This course is designed to develop and enhance knowledge and skills in occupational therapy for individuals who wish to gain employment in an occupational therapy setting or progress to relevant degree programmes.
Units include: Context and Development of Occupational Therapy; Needs and Rights of Service Users; Policies and Procedures; Philosophy and Theory of Occupational Therapy; Anatomy and Physiology; Psychology; Sociology; Audit; Graded Unit.
Assessment is continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments.
2 Highers preferably including English or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare plus 1 Higher preferably English; or an NC in a health or care related area. Two references, one from relevant care experience. Interview.

Relevant HND or degree level study or employment as an Occupational Therapy Support Worker.
