If you would like to become an adult, mental health or learning disability nurse, but lack the necessary qualifications, this could be the course for you. Access to Nursing is part of the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) and is specifically for people who have been out of full-time education for at least 5 years. It prepares adult returners for entry into Higher Education within college or university.

Human Body/Anatomy, Dementia, First Aid, HIV, Preparation for Higher Education, Dementia, Communication, Numeracy, IT.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. For adults who have been out of education. For a place on the course you'll need to attend an interview, and provide a personal statement and two references.

Progression Routes

On successful completion and interview, guaranteed place at the University of the West of Scotland for a degree in Nursing, Adult or Mental Health.
