This course is suitable if you have either health or social care experience. The coursework is a mix of theoretical and practical assessment and will incorporate a placement from November to March.
Units include: Reablement and Self-Management - Practical Skills; Care: Human Development and Behaviour; Health Promotion; Care: Social Influences; Understanding Mental Health and Mental Illness
Care: Values and Principles; Numeracy; Practical Placement.
4 subjects at National 5; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
You will be offered Hepatitis B immunisation.
HNC Care and Administrative Practice, HNC Occupational Therapy Support or Higher Education nursing programmes and allied health professions (additional Higher required).
Employment as a Health Care Support Worker in Health or Social Care setting.
