On this NQ Healthcare (Level 6) course you’ll not only learn practical caring skills and gain vital theoretical knowledge, you’ll demonstrate what you’ve learned on service users during a work placement, which could be a care home, day centre or Additional Support for Learning school.
This course gives you valuable work experience which will introduce you to the nursing and care professions within the health care sector, and help you to develop the real-world skills that you need to progress.
Units include: Foundation skills for care practice; Care: Human development and behaviour; Health promotion; Care: Social influences; Understanding mental health and mental illness; Care: Values and principles; Numeracy; First Aid; Practical placement.
4 subjects at National 5 including English; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry subject to interview and pre-entry task.

HNC Healthcare Practice, HNC Occupational Therapy Support or HNC Social Services, or Higher Education nursing programmes and allied health professions (additional Higher required).
