Content

This course is designed to prepare adults returning to education with the skills, knowledge and understanding required for application to degree courses in Nursing or Health related fields or relevant HNC programmes.

Content includes:
Care Principles and Values; First Aid; Prevention of Infection; Skills for Personal Effectiveness; Biology; Chemistry; Numeracy; IT; Communication; Human Behaviour; Dementia; Mental Health and Wellbeing; Working with Individuals in a Care Setting (includes a placement element).

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You should have been away from formal education for at least 2 years. You will be invited to attend an interview.

Progression Routes

Some guaranteed places may be available at the University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University or the University of Stirling; or you could complete a relevant HNC.
