This course is for learners who have an interest in Social Care. It includes investigating the types of social care establishments that are available and the roles of care workers in these settings. It offers you a broad perspective across key areas to prepare you for your next progression route or employment.
You'll learn about:
Human Development and Behaviour; Social Influences; Values and Principles; Person-Centred Care; Caring for People with Dementia; First Aid; Health and Safety in a Care Setting;
Mental Health and Wellbeing.
This course also include an SQA External Assessment component.
You will undertake a work placement as part of this course.
5 subjects at National 5 including English; or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People) or Social Services and Healthcare. Entry subject to interview.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
