The degree programme in Dental Nursing is the first of its kind for the industry - offering students the opportunity to study a university-validated qualification in a vibrant and innovative college environment. The course has been purposefully designed in response to demand from industry professionals to provide a programme of study for dental nurses to future-proof their career and place them at the same level as other professional groups within a dental team.

This degree is validated by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

You will develop knowledge and skills as you undertake the following modules:

Clinical Dental Skills; Maintaining the Dentition; Oral Health Assessment; Oral Imaging Supported by Radiography; Supporting Non-routine Dental Treatments; ASPIRE: Foundations for Success.

Supervised clinical placement will continue to develop practical experience in a dental practice setting.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, or Dental Nursing (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview and skills test.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
