This course will provide the knowledge, skills and expertise to register with the General Dental Council as a qualified Dental Nurse. This course includes a placement within a dental establishment to develop, and enhance realistic practical skills within a dental team.

The course is delivered by supportive, experienced staff in our realistic clinical learning environment and external work-based placement. This will support your previous learning and provide practical application within dental nursing.

What you will learn:

Dental Anatomy; Dental Charting including; specialised software; Restorative Dentistry; Dental Radiography; Non- Surgical Endodontics; Extraction and Minor Oral Surgery; Decontamination Processes and Skills; Health and Safety; Oral Diseases and their Prevention; 18 Mandatory units including a graded unit.

Entry Requirements

NC Oral Healthcare - Preparing for Practice (Level 6), or relevant experience. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
