This new and innovative programme has a combination of units from National 6 level (SCQF 6) to HND (SCQF 8). Specifically, you will study Biology units ranging from SCQF Level 6 – 8, Chemistry units from SCQF Level 6 – 7, Higher Maths units and Pharmacology
The course aims to provide you with the academic and personal skills required to study Medicine at University. This will include completing:
SWAP Preparation for Higher Education modules; Personal development units including Meta Skills for Medicine as well as UCAT and interview preparation; A medical issues research unit.
The Access programme is not intended for school leavers or graduates and all candidates should have been out of education for 3 years if you studied at National 5 Level and 5 years if you studied Highers.
Successful completion of the second year of the SWAPWest Access to Medical Studies programme provides an entrance qualification to study MBChB Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
