This course provides an opportunity for students who are returning to education to gain the university entrance qualifications required for Nursing.
The course includes: Medical terminology and Practical Skills; Caring for People with Dementia?; Mental Health; Social influences, values and principles; Human development and behaviour; Human biology units; Communication, numeracy and IT; Preparation for higher education.
This course is for those with no formal qualifications or who have been out of formal education for at least 3 years, or five years if you have higher or equivalent qualifications.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
On successful completion you may apply to access BSc Adult, BSc Mental Health, BSc Child Health or BSc Learning Disability branches of nursing.
