HNC Healthcare Practice is the new name for the HNC Care and Administrative Practice course.
This course is suitable if you want to pursue a career in nursing and other health-related fields. It combines the required academic knowledge with the skills and competencies gained from a clinical placement within the NHS. This qualification is also suitable if you want to work as a Health Care Support Worker.
Content includes:
Clinical Skills for Care Practitioners; Professional Standards for Care Practitioners; Safe Working Practice for Care; The Human Body in Health and Illness; Sociology and Health in Scotland; Graded unit.
2 Highers including English, or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare plus 1 Higher, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
Relevant degree programme, or career in Nursing, Paramedic science or the Allied health professions.
