You’ll learn skills and knowledge to help you progress into nursing, midwifery (additional study may be required for this branch of nursing) and allied health professional careers. You’ll learn through work placement, groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers. This NHS-recognised course will give you skills and knowledge in topics such as safe working practice for care, therapeutic relationships, and understanding behaviour. It also covers clinical skills for practitioners, the human body in health and illness, and mental health.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English; or 1 Higher plus Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry subject to interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
