Providing you with the knowledge and skills to support the health and wellbeing of adults in a variety of contexts including hospital and home settings.
In Year 1 and 2 your learning will be generic to all nursing fields so you’re confident in providing essential care to everyone regardless of their age or ailment.
Year 3 focusses on integrating the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for working autonomously in the adult nursing field. You will explore a range of mental, physical, cognitive or behavioural health challenges in a variety of contexts, whilst also developing your management, leadership, teaching and research skills in the healthcare environment.
You will learn how to be critical in your discussions and use evidence to support your ideas and learning.
Learning themes include science, complex health needs, collaborative multi-agency working, person-centred care, health and wellbeing, research, finance, ethics, teaching and learning theories and pharmacology.
Practice learning experiences are integrated into the course from Year 1, initially exposing you to care opportunities of people across the lifespan prior to focusing on care delivered to adult patients. These placements will allow you to contextualise your learning in the adult nursing field whilst developing your professional knowledge and understanding.
