This course is an innovative course designed to equip you with essential clinical knowledge and understanding. This course will prepare you for an undergraduate degree in Nursing and other health-related fields. This course will improve both your academic, professional and employability skills and is a step towards a rewarding career in the health sector. It combines the required academic knowledge with the skills and competencies gained from a clinical placement within the care sector. This qualification is also suitable if you want to work as a Health Care Support Worker.
Subjects Include:
Clinical Skills for Care Practitioners; Professional Standards for Care Practitioners; Safe Working Practice; The Human Body in Health and Illness; Sociology and Health in Scotland; Therapeutic Relationships; Core and academic skills.
Higher English and Biology, Chemistry, Human Biology, Geography, Physics or Physical Education plus 5 subjects at National 5 including Maths and Biology. Or relevant NC at SCQF Level 6 including Biology.
By completing this HNC you are obtaining a recognised qualification that will enable you to apply for degree studies at university in a variety of health disciplines including Nursing.
