HNC Healthcare Practice is for those who want a career in the NHS and care services, particularly nursing. It will help you develop knowledge and skills as a Health Care Support Worker in acute, clinical and community settings.

If you want to go further and study Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, or Learning Disability Nursing, this qualification may enable you to apply to university.

Units include:

Clinical skills, professional standards, therapeutic relationships, mental health, human body, sociology and health in Scotland.

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers at B including English and preferably National 5 Maths. Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare accepted in place of 1 Higher. Or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. You will attend for interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
