Coatbridge Campus
Do you see your next step in life working in the fast-paced environment working on the road helping to save people’s lives?
As a partner with the Scottish Wider Access Programme in the West of Scotland, we have devised a course programme that will fulfil the requirements for progression for mature students whose ultimate career goal is as a Paramedic.
The course is an ideal stepping-stone for an individual who wishes to, more quickly, gain entry to a degree qualification without the need for sitting formal SQA higher-grade qualifications.
Although Paramedic Science is the main goal for most, you will almost certainly be thinking about other medical related courses that are equally as interesting and in demand, such as, podiatry, food science and nutrition, biomedical science, bioscience, microbiology etc. we will help guide you to a final destination.
You should have a minimum of 4 clear years out of formal education (ideally 5 years). You must have some experience working as a qualified First Aider, working within a care setting or have voluntary experience with local First Aid Responder groups or similar. People with experience working in other uniformed organisations will also be strongly considered.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
