Content

Paramedics do more than respond to emergencies. They support people with long-term conditions and mental health needs. They help prevent hospital admissions and provide emergency healthcare. This Paramedic Science course reflects this evolving role.

You’ll gain all the essential knowledge and paramedic training for your practice. You'll learn in a wide range of dynamic care settings and experience roles related to other disciplines such as health and social care. In addition to our Paramedic practice modules, you'll also learn about topics such as:

How the body works; Assessing and managing serious illness and injury; Managing the care of mental health issues; Maternity and paediatric care.

As part of your degree, you’ll experience contemporary paramedic practice during placement on an operational ambulance. You’ll respond to 999 calls in the community across both urban and rural settings. There is also the opportunity to experience various hospital departments.

This paramedic degree is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council. After graduation, you will be eligible to register with the HCPC as a fully qualified paramedic.
