Content

You will learn a range of skills and knowledge relevant to a dental nurse studying at SCQF Level 4 to include:

Cross Infection Control; Decontamination of Reusable Dental Instruments; Dental Anatomy; Essential Dental Nursing skills; Examination of the Dentition; Health and Safety; Personal Presentation and Protection; Practicing as a Dental Nurse; Preparing Materials to Support Routine Dental Treatment; Routine Dental Treatment; Core Sills: Communication, ICT and Numeracy.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. Applicants would be expected to demonstrate an interest in working with patients and working within teams. It is also expected that you will have good communication and organisational skills as well as an interest in dentistry.

Progression Routes

Employment as a student dental nurse or possible articulation on to Dental Nursing (Level 5). You may also be considered for the Modern Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing award.
