This course is attractive to individuals who are interested in a career as a dental nursing or employment as a trainee dental nurse. Attendance is three days per week at the Coatbridge campus where you will experience learning in an environment which is state-of-the-art and simulates working with in a dental clinic.

To set-up the dental surgery for a range of dental procedures; To sterilise dental instruments; To work all members of the dental team; To work within the dental surgery whilst patients are undergoing treatment; To record information relating to dental treatments.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. Applicants would be expected to demonstrate an interest in working with patients and working within teams. It is also expected that you will have good communication and organisational skills as well as an interest in dentistry.

Progression Routes

Employment as a student dental nurse or possible articulation on to Dental Nursing (Level 6). You may also be considered for the Modern Apprenticeship in Dental Nursing award.
