If you are looking for a career in nursing or another care profession, this could be the course for you. This course provides practical skills and theoretical knowledge in clinical settings. The HNC is a recognised entry qualification for progression to a range of degree programmes including Adult, Mental Health, Child and Learning Disability Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic Science or Occupational Therapy.
You'll learn about:
Safe working practice for care; Therapeutic relationships: understanding behaviour; Sociology and Health in Scotland; Professional Standards for Care Practice; Understanding Personal and Professional Development; Clinical Skills for Care Practitioners; The Human Body in Health and Illness; Exploring Mental Health.
This course also includes a mandatory work placement within NHS Scotland. Shift patterns are a requirement including 12-hour shifts.
2 Highers including English; or NC Higher Health and Social Care (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
