This PDA Developing Professional Practice in health and social care: Maternity support course has been designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of health care support workers who already work in a maternity support role. This qualification is suitable for those who have successfully completed the HNC Healthcare Practice and wish to enhance their university application for midwifery.

This course is made up of three units: an introductory unit that will introduce you to the communication
skills, values and qualities required of the care worker, you will also learn about inter-professional working and the importance of collaboration in the delivery of effective person centred care.

Units include: Communication and Inter-professional Working in Care; Maternal Health and Wellbeing; Maternal and Foetal Health and Wellbeing.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers preferably including English, or NC Level 6 in a health or care related area or SWAP Access to Nursing. Interview.
