If you have been out of formal education for more than three years and you are looking to pursue a degree in nursing but don`t yet have the necessary qualifications this is the ideal course for you. The course is a full-time course where you will be given the necessary education to progress onto the first year of a Nursing Degree.
We have a partnership with Napier University where Access students who are progressing well on the course and are supported by their college lecturer will be offered an interview for entry into Year 1 of their Nursing degree programme.
You will study the following subjects on the course:
Communications 4; Literature 1; Higher Care (Human Development and Behaviour Social Influences and values and principles); Higher Human Biology; Numeracy; IT; Dementia; Prevention of Infection.
Out of formal education for more than three years. Experience of working in a care setting is desirable. Interview and written test.
Universities across Scotland offering courses in Adult, Mental Health or Learning Disabilities and Nursing.
