This course provides a grounding for those wanting to work in the health and social care professions.
This course gives various options for progression, and involves classroom study and?opportunities to engage with health and social care employers through volunteering/work experience.
The course includes:
Mental Health First Aid at Level 5 (an exciting new addition at Level 4); An Introduction to Basic First Aid; Social Influences; Human Development and Behaviour; Improving Health and Wellbeing; The Mental Health Award (three units to support understanding around mental health and wellbeing); A range of personal development units; Working in non-clinical roles / Physiology of the cardiovascular system; Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing.
You will get the chance to learn about various health and social care settings.
No formal entry requirements. Interview and pre-entry test.
You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
You can progress to SCQF Level 5 courses in Health and Social Care or other SCQF Level 5 courses at West Lothian College.
