Old Aberdeen Campus
First Year: In first year there are courses in Chemistry and Medical Sciences, plus optional courses from the normal science programme and other areas.
Second year: Second year covers: Human Gross Anatomy (dissection of human cadaver), Human Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry combined with courses delivering key skills applicable to Biomedical Sciences.
Third Year: A compulsory Molecules, Membranes and Cells course plus specialised courses in Physiology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology or Anatomy.
Fourth Year: You will spend year 4 on placement in an industrial, commercial or research environment.
Fifth Year: The Honours year aims to explore in depth, specific aspects of molecular biology. An important feature is the ten-week research project, carried out in research laboratories at the University or in local research institutes.
2026 entry requirements
Standard entry:
4 Highers at AAAB including 2 maths or science subjects plus English, Maths and Chemistry or Physics at National 5.
1 Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a non-essential Higher.
