After following a common pathway for two years, you’ll take either the Standard or the Applied programme route. The Applied route includes an 18-week placement, some taking place in award winning laboratories, and is particularly relevant for those keen to become a Biomedical Scientist in the NHS. The Applied route is Approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
MSci Biomedical Science route - subject to approval: The university plans to introduce an MSci integrated Master's degree, allowing students to progress to a 5th year of study, focussing on a specific area of their programme in more depth.
2022 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at BBBB including Biology or Human Biology plus English, Maths and Chemistry at National 5.
Widening access entry: 3 Highers at BBC including Biology or Human Biology plus English, Maths and Chemistry at National 5.
Entry to year 2 is available with 3 Highers at BBB including Biology and Chemistry.
