Adult nursing is a dynamic, rewarding and highly skilled caring and compassionate career. You will develop diverse skills ranging from the delivery of health education for individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds to delivering complex care for people with multiple acute or long term conditions.

This programme aims to develop nurses who are able to deliver person-centred, safe and effective care, working with other professions and agencies in an ever-changing and complex healthcare environment.

Year 1
Values and Rights based Nursing practice, Health Improvement, Contemporary Health Care Delivery, Introduction to Evidence Based Practice.

Year 2
Anticipatory and Alternative Approaches to Adult Nursing, Developing Skills for Professional Nursing Practice (Adult).

Year 3
Adult Nursing to Empower, Enable and Enhance Person-Centred Care, Consolidating Professional Skills for Nursing Practice (Adult).

Year 4
Honours level dissertation, Leadership in Interprofessional teams, Advancing the Application of Values Based Nursing Practice in Health and Social Care.

Entry Requirements

2020 entry requirements:
4 Highers at BBBB including English and preferably a science subject plus Maths and a science subject at National 5. A Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of 1 non-essential Higher. For widening access entry contact the institution.

You must pass a health screen and a criminal record check and attend an information session to meet NMC requirements.
