Pay rates can vary depending on whether you are working with the NHS, with a private practice, or are self-employed.
Within the NHS Agenda for Change scales physiotherapists' salaries are on Band 5, £33,247 to £41,424 a year. Specialist physiotherapists are on Band 6, £41,608 to £50,702 a year. Advanced physiotherapy practitioners are paid on Band 7, £50,861 to £59,159 a year. The current pay scales are from April 2025.
Salaries outwith the NHS can range from £25,000 a year for an assistant physiotherapist, rising to around £47,000 with experience.
