You will cover a wide range of practical skills – from news writing to mobile journalism. The core focus of the course is on the practical skills journalists needand editors demand:
News Writing; Feature Writing; Digital Journalism (mobile journalism, data journalism and the use of social media within journalism); Video Recording and Editing; Radio Production; Public Affairs; Law; Shorthand.
2 Highers including English, with preferably Modern Studies, although other subjects such as History, Psychology or a modern language will be considered. Or Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview, written test and portfolio.
A degree programme in journalism at university. The college has strong links with Glasgow Caledonian University, University of Stirling and the University of the West of Scotland.
