Sound production is an exciting career combining; science, technology, engineering, maths and creativity. Sound is the most important production component in music, film, television, radio and the computer, media and games industries. You'll be equipped with all the skills you need to be successful in this exciting and in-demand career area.

You will study the fundamentals of Sound and the Audio Signal Path...from inputs to outputs you'll learn how to get the best results. You will record, edit and deliver projects using a wide variety of equipment. You'll learn how to use Digital Audio Workstations including Ableton and Pro-Tools. To stretch your creativity you'll take part in Sound Design, Digital DJ and Creative projects. Hands-on Synthesis and Remixing projects will help widen your musical appreciation and equip you with key elements of the sound engineer's skillset.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5, preferably including English and Music or Music Technology; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
