HND Television and Film is the progression from HNC Television and Film at Milton Road Campus, but if you have an HNC in a similar subject area or a strong portfolio of relevant prior experience you may also be considered for a place.

The course will build on your research and writing skills, your technical skills in camera, editing, soun recording, lighting, audio post-production and colour correction. In addition you will learn to direct in various genres and styles, both factual and dramatic.

Content:

Directing for factual and non-factual productions; Working in different roles as part of a production crew; Working with external clients to a given brief; Advanced camera skills; Advanced editing skills; Critical analysis of texts; How to prepare a CV for working in the screen industries; Approaches to networking, self-promotion and work experience.

Relevant HNC. Interview.

Progression Routes

Formal articulation agreement for a limited number of places at Napier University BA (Hons) Television, subject to application and interview.
