Content

In recent years there has been growth in film and high end television production in Scotland, supported by an increased demand for high quality productions across streaming services.

This has led to new screen studio developments and expansion of existing facilities in Scotland and a shortage of workers with the necessary skills.

This production-based course will introduce learners to the film and television industries and provide an understanding of job roles and functions within the sector and the commercial and cultural factors affecting the film and television industries. Learners will be introduced to the creative process and develop skills in analysing film and television productions and scriptwriting.

Learners will gain key practical skills in shooting and editing, lighting and sound and directing through practical production projects.
