On this course you will learn a range of modules including Thermofluids and Engineering Principles. These will be taught at a high level allowing you to develop transferable skills which are essential for your future engineering career.

This course is fast-tracked and will be taught two evenings a week over two years. Each evening session lasts two and a half hours and is delivered online through programmes similar to Skype. The software used is exclusive to Edinburgh College and includes a virtual whiteboard system for you to use and participate in the class.

This course combines engineering techniques with hands-on learning. You will learn the skills required to solve mechanical engineering problems in a wide variety of industries such as; traditional energy, renewable energy, manufacturing, transport and materials. The course is taught by staff with extensive industry experience using the latest industry technologies. You will be taught between classrooms and online workshops where you will gain essential hands-on experience in the engineering sector. This course is intended to meet the requirements of employers and universities.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and Physics; or NC Engineering Systems; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6

Progression Routes

Progress to undergraduate courses with the HND giving direct entry at second or third year. Improved promotion prospects in either a technical or management role.
