This course brings together the main aspects of today’s modern process and engineering control systems requirements. The course looks at and develops your understanding of automated and robotic systems through electrical, mechanical and electronic units showing how these individual engineering areas are interfaced together with computing software to form interactive and complex production systems.

Some of the units you will study:

Communication: practical skills; Engineering Mathematics 1; Mechatronic systems elements; Mechatronic systems; Interfacing electronics; Electrical Engineering Principles 1; Engineering principles; Computer-aided draughting for engineers; robotics and animatronics: an introduction; Applications of programmable logic controllers; and Metchatronics: graded unit 1 examination.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths and Physics or Computing Science, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
