This one year course gives you the skills, knowledge and understanding that you'll need for a career in mechanical engineering. On completion of this course you can continue to the 2nd year of the HND programme, apply to study at degree level or move into a technical-level job within industry.

You’ll be able to use state-of-the-art facilities at the college – such as our fully equipped mechanical lab, pneumatic and hydraulic rigs and computer suites running CAD software.

You'll be taught by staff with significant engineering experience and a proven track record of bringing out the best in their students.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths, and preferably Physics or Engineering Science; or NC Mechanical Engineering (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
