Looking to become an engineering technician? This course gives you the skills, knowledge and understanding that you’ll need for a career in mechanical engineering. Successful completion of this HNC also gives you entry to Higher National Diploma or degree courses.

You will study:

Statics and strength of materials; Thermofluids; Dynamics; Materials selection; Engineering Maths 1 and 2; Pneumatics and hydraulics; Engineering principles; Computer-aided draughting for engineers; Engineering drawing; Communications; Introduction to quality management; Information technology: Applications software 1; and Personal development planning.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Maths, and preferably Physics or Engineering Science, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
