This HND in Mechanical Engineering course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in a range of modules from Thermofluids to Engineering Principles as well as further Higher National (HN) units that are the building blocks of the mechanical engineering discipline.

It combines advanced engineering techniques with hands-on-learning to provide a complementary blend of skills required to solve mechanical engineering problems in a wide variety of fields, such as the traditional energy and renewable energy sector, manufacturing, transport sector, materials amongst other fields. This course is intended to meet the needs of employers and will ensure you meet undergraduate requirements as well as enabling you to meet your specific needs or interests.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and Physics or a technological subject; or NC Engineering Systems; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6

Progression Routes

Progress to undergraduate courses with the HND giving direct entry at second or third year. Improved promotion prospects in either a technical or management role.
