You will learn a range of modules including Thermofluids and Engineering Principles. These will be taught at a high level allowing you to develop transferable skills which are essential for your future engineering career.

This course combines engineering techniques with hands-on learning. You will learn the skills required to solve mechanical engineering problems in a wide variety of industries such as; traditional energy, renewable energy, manufacturing, transport and materials.

The course is taught by teachers with industry experience using the latest industry technologies. You will be taught between Edinburgh College classrooms and workshops where you will gain essential and hands-on experience of the engineering sector. This course is intended to meet the requirements of employers and universities.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and Physics or another science or technological subject; or NC Engineering Systems; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6

Progression Routes

Progress to undergraduate courses with the HND giving direct entry at second or third year. Improved promotion prospects in either a technical or management role.
