The UWS Journalism course prepares you intellectually and practically for success in the modern multi-platform world of journalism – with the opportunity to specialise in news, sport or pursue a broader journalism curriculum.

You will study news reporting, interviewing and writing skills and prepare yourself for the demands of today's dynamic and fluid news environment.

The course underpins practical production and broadcasting skills with theoretical insight into ethical and effective journalism. You will build your knowledge of national and local government, international relations, and civil and criminal law relating to the media.

The subject areas at the core of the programme provide a strong foundation in a range of specific journalistic disciplines.

Core modules will comprise practical journalism modules in newsgathering, producing news and features, layout and design, digital video production, broadcast journalism, as well as work placements.
