The BA Filmmaking & Screen Writing degree offers you the opportunity to engage creatively and critically with all aspects of Film.

The practical focus of the degree will help you build up a portfolio of work and provide you with experience of pre- and post-production, research, scriptwriting and camera operation.

You will:
Develop industry awareness and learn how film operates as a business; Study film as an artform, researching significant filmmakers, traditions and innovations; Develop essential craft skills to a high standard; Build a portfolio of creative work showcasing your expertise.

This programme provides valuable preparation for careers in the creative industries.

2024 entry requirements
Standard entry:
4 Highers at ABBB plus English and Maths at National 5.

Entry to year 2 is possible with 3 Advanced Highers at BCC plus English and Maths at National 5.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BBBB plus English and Maths at National 5.
