This eclectic and inspiring course will give you the expertise to succeed in a variety of careers. You will learn practical filmmaking skills and have your critical thinking faculties sharpened to a fine point.

Year One:
Studying Cinema/Analysing Stories/Film Histories/Media and Creative Industries/Creative Practice/Creative Practice: Fiction Film.

Year Two: Film Genre/Popular Media Cultures/Media, Politics and Culture/Creative Practice: Researching Documentary/Creative Practice: Documentary Filmmaking/Creative Practice: Client Project.

Year Three: Working in the Film and Creative Industries/Global Film Cultures/Designing Research Projects/plus three options.

Year Four: Dissertation/Modernity on Screen/plus three options.

Entry Requirements

2026 entry requirements:

4 Highers at BBBB (standard entry) or BBCC (widening access entry) preferably including English or Media plus English and preferably Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.

For entry to year 2 you must have 2 relevant Advanced Highers at BC plus Highers at BB.
