This course provides you with a practical and critical understanding of the changing face of journalism and the legal, political and economic aspects of the profession.

The emphasis on employability means that you’ll be taught by professional journalists about everyday life in the industry. And we’ll introduce you to ways of gaining first-hand experiences in journalism – including work placements through the university's links with various news organisations as well as freelance opportunities.

The course provides the opportunity to study at a partner university overseas, or complete a work placement in industry in your third year.

Standard entry:
4 Highers at ABBB including English.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BBCC including English at B.

For entry to year 2 you must have 3 Advanced Highers at BBC including English.

An interview and portfolio will form part of the application process.
