This distance learning course is outlined by internationally recognised academic awarding body the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
It is for anyone who wishes to start a career in engineering or who may already be employed currently in the industry and would like to attain an internationally recognised engineering qualification.
You will carry out mathematical solutions and apply engineering theory to a multitude of mechanical and electrical engineering problems and understand the parameters in which engineering systems operate.
You will gain an understanding of international engineering standards including health, safety, environment and quality. The course will prepare you for a project environment. Knowledge of project management and planning will be gained throughout the course.
Higher Maths at B and 1 from Chemistry, Physics or a technological subject; or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering; NC Mechanical Engineering (including SWAP Access to Engineering); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
