This course is delivered at our Falkirk campus and provides students with a sound understanding of Architectural Technology and the necessary skills for employment within the construction industry.
Students will engage in learning effective Architectural practice and design management by exploring digital interactive models using VR technology in line with the current principles of Building information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction practices. Students will learn how to use a variety of CAD, modelling and digital survey software’s to design buildings collaboratively, that enhance the built environment.
You will study:
Architectural CADT: Residential Design; Architectural CADT: Construction Detailing; Digital Surveying, Analysis and Presentation; Statutory Control of Buildings; Building Information Modelling ( BIM ) : Principles; Design of Building Structures; Architectural Design Sketching and Drawing; 3D Draughting for Architecture; Architectural Professional Practice : Design Management; CAD 2D1; Conversion and Adaptation of Buildings; Architectural CADT: Commercial Building Systems; Architectural Technology with Digital Construction: Graded Unit 1.
1 Higher including English or Maths plus 3 subjects at National 5 including English or Maths (whichever not held at Higher) and science or technological subjects, or Foundation Apprenticeship Civil Engineering, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
HND in relevant subject or year two of a relevant undergraduate degree programme.
