The application of Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) is a powerful means of illustrating 2-Dimensional, 3-Dimensional and animated drawings, using the latest in computer technology.

This highly sought after HNC equips you with the necessary skills to enter the design labour market, or to progress onto a higher level qualification in this specialist field.

CAD: 2D I (using AutoCAD 2024); CAD: 2D II (using AutoCAD 2024); Architectural CADT: Principles and Practice (AutoCAD 2024); CAD: 3D surface and solid modelling (using AutoCAD 2024); CAD: user systems (using Microsoft Office); CAD: feature based modelling (using Inventor 2024); CAD: principles (using Inventor 2024); Design methodology; Cad: 3D printing and scanning; CAD: architectural 1 (using Revit 2024); Graded unit (using Inventor 2024 or Revit 2024); Communication.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus 3 subjects at National 5, preferably including Graphic Communication; or Foundation Apprenticeship Engineering; or NC Mechanical Engineering; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
