The application of Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) is a powerful means of illustrating 2-Dimensional, 3-Dimensional and animated drawings, using the latest in computer technology.

This highly sought after HNC equips you with the necessary skills to enter the design labour market, or to progress onto a higher level qualification in this specialist field.

CAD: 2D I (using AutoCAD 2023); CAD: 2D II (using AutoCAD 2023); Architectural CADT: Principles and Practice (AutoCAD 2023); CAD: 3D surface and solid modelling (using AutoCAD 2023); CAD: user systems (using Microsoft Office); CAD: feature based modelling (using Inventor 2023); CAD: principles (using Inventor 2023); Design methodology; Cad: 3D printing and scanning; CAD: architectural 1 (using Revit 2023); Graded unit (using Inventor 2023 or Revit 2023); Communication.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher plus 3 subjects at National 5, preferably including Graphic Communication; or Foundation Apprenticeship: Engineering; or NC Mechanical Engineering; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
