The Foundation Diploma is a comprehensive program designed to prepare students for a diverse range of undergraduate degrees in art and design disciplines. This year-long course aims to enhance your skills and broaden your knowledge across various art and design subjects, equipping you for your chosen degree or assisting you in determining the most suitable course of study.

Throughout this course, you will explore multiple disciplines within art and design while refining your practices through problem-solving, idea generation, and critical thinking. The course places significant emphasis on the preparation of a portfolio to support your application to higher education institutions.

Practical studio work is supported by a program of art and design studies. You will benefit from access to dedicated studio spaces and state-of-the-art facilities, including specialised craft and design workshops. The course is taught by experienced faculty members, including practicing creatives with expertise across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

Entry Requirements

Higher English and Art and Design plus 2 subjects at National 4, or NQ Art and Design: Applied Arts (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview and portfolio of work required.
