This introductory-level course is suitable for those who wish to learn more about Art and Design. It will engage you in a range of exciting and creative projects, allowing you to develop confidence and knowledge and build a portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of methods, skills and processes.

Friendly and encouraging staff will guide you through a range of projects and activities that include: sketchbook development, drawing methods, 3D work, mixed media, painting, print-making techniques and design craft. On successful completion of this course, you will be encouraged to explore further pathways within the Art and Design department.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4, preferably English and Art and Design, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Portfolio and Interview.

Learners wishing to progress onto a degree course at university must check the entry requirements for individual institutions as they vary. Learners may also apply to other HN level Art & Design courses at college.
