This course will prepare learners for entry into art school/university study or for their chosen career path in art. With the guidance of our friendly and expert staff you will build a strong folio of work that will develop and showcase your skills and creativity. Individual development and an understanding of contemporary Art & Design processes will underpin your visual art skills.

The course includes life drawing, painting skills, printmaking, personal projects, research methods and contextual studies exploring the work of relevant artists/designers. This course is delivered until April in alignment with art school interviews/portfolio dates, with staff supporting learners through the UCAS application process.

Entry Requirements

Preferably English and Art and Design at National 5, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Portfolio and interview.

Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress onto a degree course at university must check the entry requirements for individual institutions as they vary. Learners may also apply to other HN level Art & Design courses at college.
