The course covers both theory and practical subjects to develop skills across a range of units to increase knowledge of engineering systems and engineering practice.

This programme combines the NC engineering systems with the SVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations. These qualifications satisfy the foundation training for a modern apprenticeship across a range of engineering disciplines.

Employment opportunities through good employer links and potential route to a 2nd year apprentice.

Entry Requirements

National 4 English, Maths and a technological subject, SfW Engineering Skills preferred. Interview.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of this course can be used to help you secure employment as a second year apprentice, as the course provides you with the necessary qualifications that satisfy the foundation training for the Modern Apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding Engineering.
