This course is ideal for you if you are starting out in engineering as it provides practical training and focuses on improving broad-based practical skills and knowledge with a hands-on approach. Practical skills covered include assembly, fitting, and engineering drawing using a project based learning model.

You will gain SQA Engineering skills units, practical experience and case studies of real life situations and problems you could encounter in an engineering job role.

You will study:
Engineering workshop skills; Engineering assembly skills; Use of measuring equipment; Understanding Energy; Communication; Numeracy and/or Mathematics: Craft 1; Health and safety: engineering; Essential Skills including problem solving, working with others and ICT.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English and Maths. Physics or Engineering Science is preferred, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview and pre-entry test.
