This course is designed to provide introductory knowledge in the major engineering disciplines of Automotive, Mechanical, Systems and Electrical Engineering as well as introduce renewable energy and its relevance to engineering disciplines. It will equip students with knowledge and skills to enable them to choose a specific route for further study and prepare students with the employability skills required for a career in the engineering sector.

Content:

Practical workshop skills for Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automotive Engineering; Underpinning theoretical knowledge in Electrical Principles, Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Electronics, Automotive Engineering Principles and Electric Vehicle Technology; Employability and Project skills; Maths, Numeracy, Communication and ICT.

Entry Requirements

National 4 English and Maths is preferred.

Progression Routes

Progression to an Engineering specialism in Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive would be supported.
