This NQ Landscape Design and Construction course provides instruction in the skills and knowledge required for a career in landscaping. It covers a range of subjects including hard and soft landscaping plus planning and design. It is intended to prepare you for self-employment or employment in the landscaping industry and for progression to higher education. The course is delivered in purpose-built classrooms, workshops and glasshouses, providing an exceptional learning environment to study landscape design and construction.

Course delivery is through both practical and theoretical study and you should be prepared for a degree of classroom study.

Units include: Design and planning; Plant identification; Soft landscaping; Protected crop production; Hard landscaping; Brickwork; Fence construction; CAD; Drainage; Surveying; Lawn care.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including English and Maths, or NQ Introduction to Horticulture with Landscaping Skills (Level 4), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. A reasonable level of fitness is also desirable.
