Content

This course provides instruction in the skills and knowledge required for a career in landscaping. It covers a range of subjects including hard and soft landscaping plus planning and design and is intended to prepare you for self-employment or employment in the landscaping industry and for progression to higher education.

Course delivery is through both practical and theoretical study and you should be prepared for a degree of classroom study.

Units include: Design and planning; Plant identification; Soft landscaping; Protected crop production; Hard landscaping; Brickwork; Fence construction; CAD; Drainage; Surveying; Lawn care.

Entry Requirements

National 4 English and Maths, or NQ Introduction to Horticulture (Level 4) or NQ Introduction to Landscape Design and Greenkeeping, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. A reasonable level of fitness is also desirable.
