This course introduces learners to the breadth of the horticultural industry and the areas of specialism within a diverse and rewarding industry. As well as developing the practical skills required, it will introduce a range of disciplines found within horticulture, supported by relevant and up to date knowledge and understanding.
You'll learn the practical skills and knowledge for working in the horticulture industry including horticulture practices, maintaining green spaces, soft and hard landscaping, plant growth and development, plant protection and soil management. You'll learn through groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers.
Subjects at National 4, preferably including English and Maths; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry is based on successful performance at interview.
