This course is designed to attract school leavers who enjoy and have an interest in hands-on land-based subjects and would like to develop their knowledge in this area.
The NC Rural Skills course is a combination of practical skills and theory. A range of topics include Rural Environment: An Introduction, Rural Species Identification and Habitats, Rural Estate Maintenance, Rural Work Activities, Enterprise Activity, Developing Skills for Employment, Skills for Customer Care, Numeracy, Information and Communication Technology.
Further options are modules chosen from Tractor Operations, Small Powered Machinery Operations, Introductions to Construct Rural Features and Structures, Aquaculture An Introduction to Finfish Production, Tree Identification, Forestry in Britain, Gardening Skills, Tree and Shrub Planting
