Content

Being in nature can boost wellbeing, and in this course, you’ll learn the principles of horticulture and the benefits of horticulture therapy. This course covers everything from plant and soil science and propagation to land-based machinery and amenity turf, as well as helping you learn practical skills in our purpose-built workshops.

This course is ideal for all academic levels and gives you the knowledge you need to work in the Horticultural industry or progress to further studies with the faculty.

Content:
Plant science; Soil science; Plant selection and identification; Horticultural Therapy; Land-based machinery; Estate maintenance; Establish and maintain plants; Amenity turf; Plant propagation; Identification and control of plant problems.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4, or NQ Introduction to Horticulture (with Gardening or Landscaping Skills) (Level 4), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.

HNC Horticulture or HNC Landscape Management.
